David Beckham Scores a Point...on His Driving Record

As reported by Hollywood Rag e-zine, David Beckham was fined by police for illegal driving in Los Angeles yesterday [04.08.08].

The Los Angeles Galaxy soccer star was stopped by officers after he made an illegal left hand turn between Fairfax Avenue and Sunset Boulevard and issued with a $160 ticket.

David, who was wearing dark sunglasses and a white short-sleeved T-shirt, was also warned he would be given one point on his driver’s license unless he agrees to go to traffic school.

An onlooker said: “David was really cooperative. I think he knew he was in the wrong.”

Shortly before moving to Los Angeles last year, David’s wife Victoria was tailed by officers until she pulled up on the side of the road and produced her valid license.

As reported by the Daily Dish, Rocker John Mayer found himself on the wrong side of the law on Tuesday when he was pulled over by Los Angeles police for a traffic violation.

The star -- who is currently dating Jennifer Aniston -- was driving his green Land Rover SUV in West Hollywood when he was stopped for a missing rear license plate.

He apologized for the offense saying, "We'll take care of this. ... It's an unfortunate situation. ... We'll make amends."

According to the West Hollywood Sheriff Station's watch commander, Mayer was cited for a registration violation and released.
